A SHORT STORY
About a hundred years ago, pocket watches were being replaced by wrist watches. At that time, many different watch manufacturers began to disappear and their knowhow too.

When people were forced to sell their valuables because of the wars, inflation and economic crises of the last century, pocket watch and wrist cases made of gold were the first to be sold.
As a result, many high grade pocket watches lost their cases and were no longer usable as complete watches any more.
